Ahakista (Irish: Átha an Chiste or Áth an Chiste)[1] is located approximately halfway along the Sheep's Head peninsula between Durrus and Kilcrohane in County Cork, Ireland. It is a wooded coastal village with a deep and sheltered harbour.
Air India Flight 182 disaster, passenger jet explosion off the coast of Ireland on June 23, 1985, that claimed the lives of all 329 passengers and crew members. Sikh extremists were accused of sabotaging the Air India aircraft, and one suspect was convicted in 2003.

Le 23 juin 1985, une bombe placée à bord du Boeing 747 effectuant le vol Air India 182 explose, détruisant l'appareil à 31 000 pieds d’altitude au-dessus de l’océan Atlantique, au sud-ouest de l’Irlande. L'avion de la compagnie indienne Air India assurait la liaison Montréal - Bombay via Toronto, Londres et Delhi.
