Ca sonne comme Bonny and Clyde !
Bill O’Leary
Washington, D.C.
Education: University of Maryland, B.A
Bill O’Leary is a staff photographer for The Washington Post, where he has worked for 31 years. O’Leary is a third generation Washington native, but before turning to journalism he belonged to an ensemble of comic performers called Travesty, Ltd. The group created short films, comedy records, radio bits and even a short-lived stage act. But then he heard the siren song of photojournalism. O’Leary's grandfather quit school to work for The Post in 1911. His son started at the Evening Star in 1939 and worked there until its demise. Between the three, they have logged over 100 years of consecutive O’Leary bylines in Washington newspapers.
